interaction update | respite game (3-22 mar 2025)

do not interact if you're a decorative object or something idk i don't use twitter

i'm sorry. let's move on.

the actual update

yes, the update is actually what it says on the title! this is, once again, more on the technical side. if you've been reading my previous posts, you'll notice that i've been talking about interactive elements a lot. this is because there's going to be a lot of them! if everything goes well, i hope to have a lot of the furniture and decoration be interactive.

things i did:

  • kitchen cabinets are now openable! the opening of them is client-side, meaning if you open them other players won't see it
  • dining chairs!! the dining table is so big that i could fit 10 of them, even though there aren't even that many characters. 10 is, as of now, the total number of characters (including past and future).
  • "modeled" the lore dump monitor
  • what is the lore dump monitor, you may ask? it's a computer that has lore in it. probably a cheap way to dump lore, but like, whatever. it's an exploration game in roblox.
  • restroom doors (although rn it's just a greybox, details coming soon)
  • (FINALLY) started planning the medical room interior, and also the role it has in the story

plans

once again, my main plan is to do the designs and refs, but at this point the only thing i can do about it is to pray that i'll get the motivation to actually make them. i'm tired of art right now.

right now i'm thinking (and i know, considering how much of the game is finished at the moment, that this is not a good idea right now) if there are other features i should add. y'know, for funsies, nothing too major. i'm not going to add any major kinds of gameplay.

  • settings, to ✨enhance the user experience✨ perhaps
  • gamepasses...? NOT DLC!!! i promise!!! just cosmetic items, may affect experience but won't grant or make it easier to earn badges. won't be too expensive either.
